This project is typical of the many properties found throughout Birmingham from the Victorian era, many of which, including this one, still have the original pine boards.
Although these boards look beautiful, they can create a draughty environment with the large cellar space under the ground floor and gaps between the boards.
This client had just bought the house and wanted a restoration of the boards carried out in four rooms before moving in.
We performed a few repairs as needed; sanded the whole floor and applied a very light stain to remove the typical yellow pinewood colour. The floor was then finished with a matt lacquer.
We were able to work over a period of two weeks to get this work done while the house was empty and completed it on time.
